Perhaps we could get Poeee to host it up for members to download.

That sort of thing should be a sticky.

Ok, so i have scanned all 240 pages of my original Austin Workshop manual.... Its pretty big... 405mb worth.... How would we go about making this public so that every one can see it?

What format is it? If it was a PDF then it would be fairly small and easy to work.
:D

Can you PDF them? Hopefully it would be as simple as a batch print, say in groups of 15 or 20 pages. I do the manuals for some of our heavy machinery at work, PDFs are great for minimal size and ease of distribution.

How do i do that? Convert 240 pages from JPEG to PDF?

I think you just set your default printer to "PDF" and just print as you would normally. Instead of printing it creates a PDF file.

It will be time consuming to say the least.
The PDF writer appears as a printer on your computer. Anything you can print is an instant conversion. So if running WinXP take a group of Jpegs, hit the print, select PDF and there they go. You'll have to find a freebie and download it.
If adobe dont have anything, try deskPDF.

And if you get real stuck, whack em on a CD and send em to me. If I find the time I'll do it at work. 8)
