Are Right Hand tanks a mirror image of the standard tanks?? What mounting points are you supposed to use when installing them? Do you have to drill any holes to mount them?

Q1. basically, yes- but the fuel outlet is in a different spot.
Q2. copy what is done with the LH tank, ie attach the strap to the seat back, and drill a hole in back of boot floor to retain the bottom strap. I used a standard LH tank strap.
There's a proper tank bracket kit you can buy, but for a non-S Mini, meh- I used 2 blocks of wood.
3. Yes as said for the straps, and one on the body for the filler neck. I made a cardboard template of LH one relative to side seam and rear window, turned it over and marked body for the RH one.

I too, used blocks of wood, for a nice snug fit.

Some of us senior dudes bought complete Cooper S's for less than you will pay now for the disc brakes off one..
Which you will need to fit sooner or later if you want a Mini-K to really STOP.

My 'S' set me back $150

But it doesn't run, the brakes don't work and the suspension is non-existent...and its 1/18th scale... :(

A Mini Deluxe or a Mini K is what they sold us poor young guys who all REALLY wanted an S back then. "They are too dangerous, have too much power, you will kill yourselves, there is a LONG waiting list- here, have one of these instead at 1/2 the price"..
so saith the salesmen back then.
