I am using Patricks Autocare to transport my car from Adelaide to Melbourne, they are an Australia wide company and they were by far the cheapest with the best accident cover, give them a try.

I just had a mini transported from Adelaide to Sydney by TNT. They were good, car arrived in one piece with no damage. It is cheaper to drop off at the depot and pick up from the depot at the receiving end, but they will also pick up and deliver from nominated sites if required. It just costs more.

Had no problems with Patricks for Sydney to Melbourne, good price (<$300), phone call on arrival etc, and were recommended to me by another large transport company who couldn't do the job for me at the time.
Well worth a call.
Peter.

Brett's right. The best thing I can say about Trewin's was that they were quite competively priced. I'm not allowed to say anything negative, so PM me for the rest of my experience with them.

One thing to watch out for is that some companies don't offer much in the way of insurance or any kind of protection. Their motto goes something like "all care but no responsibility", thats may or may not be OK. It does seem to make it cheaper.
