It will help the fore and aft pitching, won't affect cornering much.
But putting comp bumpstops on rear will reduce understeer and improve turn-in.

Comp bumpstops add to the `spring rate' at rear, they are aeon springs.
The suspension sits on these type of bumpstop at all times, not just when you hit a bump.

Also having competition bump stops means you can probably get home if a hydro bag blows, as it won't sit the car's arches on the tyres. Still gotta go slow though.

I have always done the shocky mod, great improvement and little dollars too. One pair of upper mounts off an old derelict clubman and a cheap pair of shocks (maybe even the oness of the clubby if still good). If the shocks are too stiff, you will shatter your teeth as they will add to the damping already present in the hydro system.

Hydro bags have internal damping valves but they will deterioate after all this time.
Adding any shocks to the front will improve the damping back to new.
Adding good shocks will make it better than new.
