we used WD40 in the rubber to hep get the window in. We used a make shift tool thingy, and screwdrivers. There were three of us. I wouldnt try doing it by yourself. |

I've done it by myself, it took me about an hour and a half. I put the rubber in the car first then pushed the glass into the rubber the best I could. Then I carefully used a coupe screwdrivers to work the rubber around the rest of the glass. The process until this point took about 1hour 20. With the proper tool and some soapy water it took about 10 mins to get the locking strip in. I've replaced ugly locking strip with nice new locking strip on quite a few Minis lately, now it takes less than 5 mins for that part. I think the key to installing a windscreen is being careful and having patience. |

use two screw drivers put the seal on the mini then put the bottom of the windscreen into the seal then start goin around with the screwdrivers pushin the window into the seal remeberin to not push to hard and break somethin plenty of soapy water or silicone spray will help take ur time and you will get there eventually u will need a custom made coat hanger tool or a lockin strip tool to put the lockin strip in tho ![]() ive done 4 windscreens now there all they same ![]() |

Fit the rubber around the windscreen, place some thin rope inside the outter part of the windscreen rubber, bring the two ends of the rope together at one pont. Place the entire windscreen/rubber onto the car and allow the two ends of the rope to fall into the car. Then have a few people put gentle pressure on the windscreen, get inside the car and slowly pull the rope outwards from the rubber. This will allow the rubber to seat over the seam edge... Its hard to explain but once you have seen it done its easy to do! Plenty of lube helps as well!!! |
