Hi Everyone,

Just rebulding my LS1275 and have run into a couple of small issues and i need some help.

1. Subframe has taken a massive hit to the front LH side, i have a subframe from a 74 clubman, it appears to be the same and i was going to swap all the parts onto it. Questions. Are they the same?

2. Bolt hole in 1 caliper has been enlarged to take a larger bolt and is very sloppy, Is the outer axle stub axle bearing holder that the caliper bolts too the same drum brake set up.

Also would anyone have a LH caliper that they would like to sell?

Thanks everyone for your future help.

Ryan

Subframes would be the same, unless a hydro subframe (which is unlikely in a 74??).

Drum brake hubs are different to disc hubs, if that's what you are talking about.

Just to confuse you...
That part the caliper bolts to is an upright on some cars, but in a Mini it's called a swivel hub.
The outer round bit that the wheel bolts onto is called a hub in some cars, but in a Mini it's called a drive flange...

No a disc one is NOT the same as a drum one, the drum swivel hub has no mounting lugs for the caliper to bolt to.

In order
1. The sub frames are the same. You often find that when a bang has happened that you can drop the old out but buggered if oy can get a newer one in because of deformation

2. A die grinder will do the job

When you say enlarged to take a bigger bolt I think of one thing to do with brakes. The steering arm to brake assembly has two bolts. They have sleeves that they go in, if you don't have a sleeve on one it would appear to be a hole too big for your bolt I think. I'm thinking a fair way back to when I put the discs on my car 2 years ago though.
