G'day,

I have receintly acquired a dismantled round nose mini off a family member.
I have no idea what the year of the car or the engine size is.
Could someone please tell me what car i have.

The numbers stamped on a plate in the engine bay are as follows -

YG2S5/1457
3/70
45A7

The engine block has these numbers stamped into it -

99H834AJ/H6123

Your help will be appreciated.

Thanks
Max Power

no it's definitely YG2S5
I've looked up every mini related web site to try and decode these numbers but have not found that sequence.

Is 45A7 the colour code?

ta.

99H is the prefix to a MK1 998 auto (minimatic). H indicates highcompression and should have a 1 1/2 carby I think. So your 99H should be a Mk2 like Doc says.

Looking around in te UK 99H and usally a letter after H indicate a Metro 1 litres but I'm pretty sure thats auto block. I'v got in the shed, but I think I've got a Mk1 block.

Mini K possible I've heard of this, recently someone was talking about the same thing, a number that, according to most list doesn't exist, remeber though most Aussie number aren't listed on British lists as it's only Mk1 and Cooper (and 'S') engine numbers that follow, and many Aussie body numbers are not included on their sites.

That motor is a late 998 Clubby, around 1976-77
Never fitted to a roundnose.
Only 99H motor a roundnose ever got fitted with was the 99H/119/H in the MiniMatics.
