My car will one day be going to get painted, and I have an issue whereby the doors
are an absolute PITA to completely dismantle.

Even when done, they are a bastard to put back together, especially when you don't want to scratch the paint.

Another thing is I want the windows on my car tinted, the seals renewed, and winder mechanism replaced.

So, how much do I need to remove from the doors? Just reading my own typing it's clear the whole door should be stripped down, but can I get away with leaving the glass in there, but taking most of the rest out?

Help me out here, any info reguarding door parts and the job at hand is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
:D :D

I spent 3.5 hours on my two doors yesterday afternoon masking all areas that I don't want to get primed and eventually painted. In my opinion the idea of taking everything off the doors and then putting it back together is just not worth it. I have removed the door from my car and all hinges have been taken off as well for separate painting.

If you do go down this route just make sure that you take your time and mask properly.

No - I have yet to see one that stands the test of time. Only way to do tinted windows is to put in tinted glass
