Post subject:  SPIN ON OIL FILTER HEAD

THERE IS A SPIN ON OIL FILTER HEAD ON E BAY.
DOES ANY ONE KNOW IF THIS IS ALL I NEED TO REPLACE
THE OLD CARTRIDGE TYPE ON MY 66 DELUXE,WILL MY
EXISTING OIL PIPE FIT STRAIGHT ONTO THIS HEAD

Yes it will fit and it is a common upgrade modification.

You will need a filter to engine gasket - a filter obviously, and the correct bolts to bolt it on. They are a different length.

The oil pipe will just bolt up as well but take care. The pipe is very easily bent and kinked and sometimes it is hard to get the existing connections undone without twisting the pipe.

Take time - use penetrating fluid and dont use brute force.

The 2 studs in the engine block are shorter for a 'spin on' filter head. You will need them too.

No need for pukka short studs, use 2 short bolts and spring washers. :wink:
