You drive all the way across town to a specialist Auto Electrical Parts supplier to buy the large right angled spade crimp terminals to rewire the headlight plugs. You need 6 but they come in packs of 5 so you have to buy 2. Then when you get home you put them in a safe place and the wife nags you to get on with some renovations to the house - then the computer crashes and you spend time fixing that - before you know it 6 weeks has gone by and it's time to get back to the Mini restro and can you find the @#&*%#$ terminals ![]() |

You can get a pair of Narva "Sealed Beam Connector"s (#49894 like the one at the bottom of this page: http://www.narva.com.au/Globes_11.html) from Repco for under $4 each. The wiring is pretty good quality with thick insulation and the core is good for atleast 10 amps (more than enough for a single 55/60w H4 light). Just call Repco first as they'll usualy have to order it in for you. |

Thanks but I would like the original Lucas colours going right to the terminal - one thing I hate is trying to sort out the correct colours that some other butcher has spliced into the wiring loom |

Funny isn't it, whenever you find a mini to fix, chances are the wiring has always been fiddled with, usually wires just twisted together under ratty insulation tape, piggy back connectors for k-mart spot lights, extra runs to switches etc where originals have melted into the looms, non standard (screw type) terminals, you name it..................... ![]() |
