Where is the anti rattle spring located on an early magic wand box? I believe rather than being on the shifter itself, that it is held in the side with a bolt and a nylon bush (NLA I think). Is this correct? The damn thing rattles like mad over about 80kph. |

Short answer - YES I got my bits from here http://www.scparts.co.uk/index/lang-2/lkz-195/markenid-4/katnr-45/kat_sprache-2/hrubnr-872/rubrik-1783/tpl-clickable_vertikal.tpl,x-a.htm |

Hmmmmmmmm. Inside the base of the gear change shaft, it appears. The MCC catalogue says both "gearlever thrust button" & ''gearlever spring" NLA. I would try a rubber bush or grommett with a generic (new) spring. Or drive slower than 80kays ![]() |

Anto - just thought my bits aren't installed yet - I could photo and measure the bits and you could source replacement bits locally if you like. Nothing special about them - bolt has thread shaved off for a bit and the spring should be available - may even have a spare that would fit now I've got a sample of what it should be ![]() |

Yeah I got a new spring, it's just the nylon bit I don't have. For the moment I'll just put a new spring in and see if that solves the problem before hunting for a replacement nylon thingy. At the moment driving slower than 80 kays should be no challenge... damn slipping clutches! |

Way back in the 60s when I had an 850, I put a spring and cup into the top knuckle above the box. You will find it's already machined for it... ![]() |

Nylon thingy?? no nylon thingy in my setup - there is a brass plunger on the end of the spring - spring - bolt with spring washer - thats it |
