I was pulling bits off my moke today and found the following. Shouldn't the fact the earth isn't bolted down be causing me grief? ![]() ![]() |

Its not good, but the engine can be grounded through other items..... throttle cable/accel cable. But all the other items are NOT designed to handle any current. |

There's lots of other earthing points, but the strap is probably the best point... it's very direct. |

it will eventually, unless there's a second one connected. undo nearest flywheel cover bolt, attch and do it up. solved ![]() |

When you do - polish both surfaces with coarse emery or a file so there is good metal to metal contact In fact, its not a bad idea every twelve months or so to re-establish all the metal to metal contacts on a car. The givaway sign that its due is a yellowing of the lights. |

Cotton reel rubber mounts can be had from Blackwoods and the like any day of the week if there's one close by, they're used a lot in industry as well. |
