Anton , what about Sports Car worlds feb 71 story on the clubman range including "...a standard model , a GT and a limited volume 100hp special for series production racing"   , no doubt that one was killed off before it was released .....

Any idea if it's the one in Sports Car road tests No. 9 ? "Clubman GT...Just for fun" ? It shows a GT with the NSW number plate CHI 335 , no mention on where the review came from though (my copy is missing the cover ...).

Sports 850,

not sure - i'll have a look tonight and let you know.
I think i have most GT articles from wheels, sports car world, motor manual and modern motor so i'll have a check-over tonight to see what is what.
There is a fair bit of duplication.
I posted a big list a while back.

Off the top of my head, it may be number three, but i'll let you know.

GT - you have a PM!

cheers!
jon

OK , Sports Car worlds feb 71 has a preview story on the clubman range and upcoming GT as well . It has a yellow custom Austin Healey Sprite (CAM Sprite) on the cover .

Yep sports850, have that one too. it has a pic of a UK rally clubman (no ex hinges) and you're right, it talks of a 100hp special for series production racing, but only a brief mention of the GT - that it was coming later in 1971. The story amazingly suggested clubmans would only come in 1275 form?!? and Manton was mooted to be involved.
The main part of the story is about a startling 998 in rally spec pushing out 90hp.............

cheers! jon

I would like to get a copy (photocopy or scan will do) of the article from SCW Feb '71 on the up-coming 100bhp Clubby.

If anyone could send me a copy that would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Watto.
