Post subject:  Help with a woodgrain dash please

Hi everyone,
I'm using Lyndas account because mine is inactive for some reason, and haven't got an email regarding whatever is going on.
I recently bought a woodgrain off Ebay a few weeks ago and sanded it back and varnished it today.
The question I have about it is how does it mount?
There doesn't appear to be any type of mounting clip or brackets, so how do I put it in? As far as I know it is genuine. I want to put it in tomorrow and have it done by the end of the day but I have no idea what to do.
Does anyone have any images of a woodgrain in their car or even mounting images? This would be great if so.
Regards,
Damien

(i assume your talking about the old style dash, not the rover/clubbie item.)
there should be 3 holes, two in the bottom and one up the top. when you open the door, down the bottom where the hinge is there should be 2 holes. you have to use screws to secure it.
you may have to drill your upper and lower dash panels to fit them. my mini k came with the holes already there.

I worked it out and have just finished putting it in. The holes are there on the bottom but I didn't have to drill holes for the top as the window demister vent fit perfectly with it, and on the left side there is a metal tab where it also secures nicely. Any gaps were cleaned up with liquid nails to avoid any extra air flow into the car and fasten it so I don't have any rattles or squeaks.
Thanks for the info, it helped.

THe real old wood dashes are held in at either end with a seperate little wooden strip between top and bottom rails that screws to the door pillar area. Most of the ones sold second-hand on eBay etc are missing the end pieces. (

Yes my woodgrain is missing the wooden strips at the end, however they can be made easy enough hopefully.
Here are a couple of pics of the woodgrain. Second is when it was first put in and the first is how it is now. All I have to do is put a tacho in and the indicator lights etc, the hole on the drivers side I have made a bracket to sit my Garmin GPS in. I have a spare right hand side anyway if it doesn't work out. Now the woodgrain is in, seats will be this weekend.
