has anyone actually put neons on their mini...either inside, or underneath the car? What do you guys think of them? Lots of people hate them calling people with neons ricers, but I think they are cool! |

they (neons under the car) looked good on the black civics in the fast and the furious coz they were driving at ridiculous speeds and zooming around a truck they are illegal on our roads (or nsw roads) claimed as too distracting on a mini? minis arent modern and sleek enough to have hover lights and imho hopefully with no offence to Jan and Mutant i dont like her neon in the rear window ive also thought neons look trashy ask Jan about it, she had some custom made for her mutant http://members.optusnet.com.au/mini2000/ |

Well, since minis are kinda bonkers, and neons are absolutely bonkers, I reckon they're not too bad a match. Toy car, toy lights, knowwarraimean? I'm thinking of fitting them, but with plugs to take them off most of the time, like WoF inspections. |

Always wanted to do this, but never got round to it... Put neons in ya door pockets and wire them into the door switches (put door switches in if ya aint got em). I used to have a neon on my parcel shelf, but took it out when I installed the stereo. It was sitting on the trim panel on the shelf, which had to come out cause it used to resonate with the movement of the air from the sub... not the best sounding thing in the world! So yes, my parcel shelf aint got no trim on it, it's all about the sound my friends! |

Hello, I have 2 x 6 inch red neons under my dash to light the footwell. I also have an 8 inch red one under my rear seat which lights the rear footwells pretty well. I have them wired up to the door switches as well as having a red illuminated swith that i can turn on while driving with doors closed to turn them on. If you want i can take a picture of it at night. from the outside and from the inside. Just let me know. Bit of warning though, the drivers side neon is a tricky one to fit and where i have it (up in the pedals bracket) does not shine (glow) as bright as the passenger side light Brad |

EL lighting kicks arse. No heat, stuff all current draw, they just dont glow as bright as neon's. All depends what ya want. I've been considering it, but I've got a helluva lot of work to do before I consider, that sorta stuff. |

OMG flashback time about 20 years ago i made a row of LED's driven off a decade counter chip and a row of transistors that i fitted across the front of my motorcycle helmet just inside the visor.. people in those days were just starting to catch on to hi tech ideas, and were very curious about the lights moving back and forth in my helmet... i used to tell them it was a road scanner and they believed it lol... (if you ever saw night rider youll have an idea what the lights did). had a mate in a bike shop and he regularly got people comming in to look for the helmets with road scanning technology.. it did look good at night though if i do say so myself.. |
