Hi there!

On eBay.com.au i discovered an cooling system which i din`t know before.
I saw it on a few Clubmans and mokes.

Image

I`ve never seen this before (what`s the rund "thing" in front of the brake-cylinder??).
It doesn`t exist in this form in Europe, all the Minis here have the "standartsystem".
So, I`m searching for an illustration, sketches - anything that makes me understand the way this setup works/is built ;)

Kind regards,
Jan

PS: Apollogies for my bad english! :(

That's the carbon canister. As you look at it, the right hose connects to "T"piece (behind the oil filler in this shot) that runs to the tappet cover breather and the timing chain cover breather - the left pipe vents to air down the back of the engine. In the UK they are usually under the radiator side front guard.

It's not really crap and it's something all us great Clubbie owners hade fitted by the Leyland Australia officals. It also acts as a great oil catchment tank :)
In this pic you can see the hose coming from the clutch housing breather into the canister.
