lol true that, i probably eruge everyone to put in an alarm and immob in there minis even if u think its stupid, tinys got an immob but as proven by zack and other minis they can be rolled away quiet easily and from there they work there way around the immobs best thing is to alarm it and chain it to something lol or park it being another car so it cant be moved away so easily

Or just drive one that looks like crap, most of the derros wouldn't be seen dead in it then.
A few overt and covert immobilisers would help too.

I'm gonna have a James Bond style mini when I get my own one.... It's going to know when its being stolen and shoot and people and have incuilt flame throwers and theive nets and heaps of cool stuff like that 8)

But yeah, its a bit weird all these minis going like this.... and in the same area.

Tiny, I'm gonna send you PM.

As per my post in the main thread - theives are usually trusted friends who deceive everyone with avoidance tactics and generally lying about things. I dont think it takes a rocket scientist to work out there may be someone in our midst that is doing this and I make no apologies about that because it is prevelant within other car/collectible clubs elsewhere.

Bottom line is we just have to keep our pride and joys locked up and away from prying eyes. I have a mongoose alarm I was saving for a rainy day - might be a good time while I rebuild Henry to incorporate it into the harness I think.

Dead set, if I catch someone either touching my mini or anyone elses with intent to knock it off - I will gladly go to jail for murder or at the very least grevious bodily harm. I have had crap stolen before and I kid you not..the wrath of God/Allah or whatever god you pray to will not save you if you are caught. At the very least fingers will be broken!

Mod it if you want but I am sick of hard work being ruined by DH's who are either too lazy to do the job themselves or strung out on a habit...be warned!!!

Pissed and Amazed!!

I totally agree, I always make sure my garage is locked at all times and I'm a bit more careful about showing people it's contents, seems you can't trust people anymore! At least in my case the thieves would have to steal two much more expensive cars before they can get to mine.

i just thought id test out the gone in 60 seconds theory on my own car if have no club lock on and i dont cut my battery of i can steal my car in less then a minute altho my car does have some glitches i wont mention but honestly im scared what happens in sydney with these things often happens in melbourne like all these thefts that get resold between our two cities. all i can hope is that these theives dont have a bunch of mini keys which are apparently interchangable to a degree.

Sounds terrible and cynical too, but when you are on the forum, mind your P's and Q's. Not worth getting worked up over, but mind the personal details you are giving out on the forum. would you give your address to a derelict at the bus stop? then why give it out here, salvos give them internet access these days.

Think carefully about what information you want to post, last names, locations, photos giving away street locations near your house, obvious sigs or posted photos with number plates, home phone numbers etc etc. All these can be used very easily to find your address.

If anyone remembers the furor bought about by www.boonghunter.com, you would know that they can find your address from your phone number in a couple of minutes, and also your neighbours and the person next to them etc by a simple list of the street. All this can also be purchased as a information database from the local government for about 20 dollars per state. All they need is your last name and a suburb. And if your last name isn't smith or wong, they'll have you locvated in a few minutes. A street name from a description of your area, or a business name and a suburb..and they may have you pinned down if your car is interesting.

If it's worth the bother of them targeting your car, it is no trouble for them to find out where you live from a few too many clues (....looks at own sig, thinks about his old posts and rolls his eyes....).

Choose carefully who you would want to have driving to your house to pick up that 5 dollar part.

Granted Mick but it is an emotive issue that tends to have reasons for venting. Granted also that I do get hot under the collar however this in turn does have an effect in that maybe if there is someone(god I hope there isnt...)on this or any other forum that they take heed that it wont be tolerated. Its psychology 101 - if they now know they are getting scruitinized, they will lay low(probably wont stop them though).

I am sorry for the rant before but it hits a raw nerve as my house was burgled a few months back - through pure luck I caught one of the buggers while in town wearing an item that I could identify easily and was marked in a unique pattern that I had reference of. She is now in Mugga lane detention centre for 6 months - and just a side note - the little one came from a very eminent(if not the eminent)girls college in ACT.

Class is not a safety net.

I am now changing my details too...lol

No, no offence intended, and I'm pretty sure with all our up top experience that we could probably bludgeon anyone with a jack handle ourselves.

I'm thinking of the consequences of less than supernatural beings (like ourselves and maybe a couple of army chicks I know) being jumped on by four wide-awake and well prepared car thieves when we go at them armed with a limp stick of celery and a morning glory....
