Dad and I went for a drive today. We packed a lunch, put the dog in the mini and tottled over to Patonga... I drove of course :D

We sat and had lunch on the beach, and got some hot chips from the fish and chip place there. Was lovely :)
Went for a walk up and down the beach, and someone elses dog followed us all the way. They thanksed us for walking their dog when we came back t the car.

Just as we were about to leave, a man came up to the car, and started talking. He also has a mini, and I told him about here, and he says he knows of it but doesnt get the time, so I told him to sign up when he gets the time.

Leaving, the guy watched us drive away. So dad tole me to go fast..... See where I get my bad driving habits from

Was a nice drive home.

I parked it on the front lawn to let it cool down so I could go check the oil and radiator later.

Dad came out with me to help me, and gave me a lesson on the engine and how it works and what not.
We tightened a few nuts and bolts. So now it shouldnt leak oil (or at least as much as it was).
Also, even after a short drive it used to smell like petrol fumes in the cabin area. It doesnt now.
We took it for a quick drive, and it sounds alot better, much less rough. And doesnt smell, and feels smoother.

Something dad noticed when looking at the back drums, was that there are two fuel lines..... meaning it may have had a rght hand tank?
Did 67 deluxes have a right hand tank? I thought because it used to be raced that the right hand tank may have been taken out to make it lighter, and it wouldnt have been needed.

Now after all the complaining dad has done about the mini, he says he might drive it to work on monday, because it doesnt stink like petrol in the cabin now

No Deluxe's never came standard with a right hand tank - it was put in by one of the PO's.

Well, I dont know, because neither of them are connected, so obviousle because the car goes, there is another fuel line from the left hand tank.

Dad was looking at the drums because the handbreak is not so good, and cant really use it in hill starts.

So here we are, car parked up on the drive way (nice sloped driveway)... dads lying on the ground behind it trying to look at tightening the breaks, and he goes "come have a look at this Cass' - "I dont really like lying behind the car on this slope dad" I say

2 Fuel lines or 2 Hydrolastic lines Cass , put a photo up if you can . Even with twin tankls their should only be one fuel line going under the car .

also feel the inside of the boot, where the second tank hole would be and see if there is anything like welds or other evidence etc. that would suggest that there was a right hand tank.

Nope. Its hard to explain, because I didnt have too good a look (I wasnt as keen as dad lying behind the car on a down hill slope). they were two pipe/hose things that came down towards the back of the mini, and weren't connected to anything.
