Post subject:  cleaning stubborn glass?
hey all,
the glass on my project car has droplet marks all over it as it has been sitting out in the open for over a year, and hasnt been touched. (when it rains and leaves droplet stains that usually wash right off)

So i thought ok it should just wash right off shouldnt it......but no it sure didnt, ive tried glass cleaner spray stuff, metho, turps all with vigorous rubbing and getting nowhere!!! it still looks the same!! :evil:

whats the best thing in cleaning glass back to it being shinny? can you buff it or clay bar or something it??

My mate had a skyline imported that had the same thing. He rang a detailer and they came around with so polish that had diamond dust in it. polished it up in a giffy. It cost him about 50 beans

I've used autosol metal polish to get fine scratches out of glass, it seemed to work a treat.

Less than ten from supercrap, it comes in a toothpaste tube.
Great for metal polishing too.

don't know how you call it
there is a cleaner for "Ceran" or "Glaskeramik Kochfelder", you know the top of the stove looks like a black glass plate.
removes nearly everything

Handdraulic. It won't take long depending on how much you have to do.

It worked for me on light scuffing from an old wiper arm, but have a crack on something else first for yourself.

Dont know if this will help - but on stubbon dirty glass - you know, on cars that have been outside for yonks, sitting under trees or what ever with algea/mould on the glass, I've used non-caustic oven cleaner.

its thick so sticks to the glass and wont run onto any valuable paint, cleans up years of road grime and tar from rubber/plastic trim, wont harm stainless steel trim, etc, test it on aluminium trim though.

It works.

Wear gloves and wipe it off just like it tells you to do when youve cleaned the oven ......... :oops:

Finish off windows by rubbing them with newspaper. Any residual streaking or fogging will be lifted off. Works a treat!
