Post subject: | RE13 cam |
Just want to see if anyone has trouble in the morning with a cold start? I just got my engine back with the re13 cam but i find that in the morning when the car is cold it seems to idle funny even with the chock out. Also how long do you normally run your car for before you drive it? |

Any real sports cam will idle a bit lumpier when cold, including the RE13- you should hear my 282... ![]() Wind the idle speed up a bit. ![]() |

Narp. Cold start problems are usually to do with worn/badly adjusted points dissies more than anything else. Also badly timed. Also crappy starter motors. I can start mine cold, hot or wet, first time, every time. |

no problems starting, and the idle is horrific hot or cold, especially so when cold. Use the fast idle setting on the choke to stop it from stalling., and i drive away gently soon as i have oil pressure how do you like the power delivery though? ![]() |

Ive got a hot 1132 with RE13 Mornings were crap... lumpy and spluttery as heck! Drove me mad... took about 10min of soft driving to warm up... idle wouldnt warm her up. Mine has a HS6 and the issue was that it was sucking too much air through the little intake on the carby (where a hose goes normally) Do you have a hose (tube) going from the engine breather (crankcase in my case) to the carby? Also, mine sounds like its going to stall but doesnt... just really really sounds like it. I use the choke to start it, run for about 30sec - 1min and then push it back in... Peter. |
