Post subject: | 1275 prices |
hi guys, I am hunting for a big block and I have some prices. I am just looking for opinions because I think I might be getting a good deal. I got couple prices for rebuildable 1275's $750 - $850, A 1275 runner $1300 and an injected 1275 for $3300. I also got a quote for a 1275 short motor for $495, They then offered me a cooper S head for $500. I am leaning towards the $1300 runner, good deal ? Cheers ![]() |

I'd get a rebuildable one, and do it properly. I've seen enough dud `runners' in my lifetime... ![]() |

$3300 for a 1275 A+ is far from a great deal. Its a rip off! If the runner blows no smoke and has decent compression that would be the go. Some prices people want for big blocks are ridiculous especially some of the importers prices for A+ engines, it makes engine conversions a much more viable option for the long term power vs reliability, economy, 5 speeds and weight saving. |

cush I doubt the guy would want much. Its just laying in the grass out the back of his shop. I told him it was crap and probly worth nothing as I left,he agreed so I reakon it would be yours for a steal. PM me I will give ya the details re: prices its still bloody expensive though. I will keep fishing. I just have to find a wrecker that has little knowledge about minis and who would not extort me in exchange for a 1275. I will find one, well I found one today but he only had an 850. I might make a few calls regarding a new 1100s motor for my morris ![]() |
