Needing some help with putting a value on a mini cooper s?
It’s a clean original 1970 mark 2 cooper s but does not have the original numbers. It has RTA numbers on it. Can any one help with putting a price tag on it?

think of a number... double it a few times and you should have your magic number..

genuine or not...

it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it..

The used car industry has a saying that there is a buyer for every car at every price.

I'd believe that ..... knowing a few ex and current used car dealers it certainly something they'd say. A price for a car is like saying how long is the string. Same goes for parts too. Going back to the actual question why don't you search the net and see what you get for the quality/condition the vehicles are in for the price they're asking.

The trick is to arrange a meeting between the buyers and the car - which says you cant over empathsis the value of good marketing, presentation and advertising of the car, particularly when you want top money for the car. Especially so when there are other similar cars for sale at that time.

A few hundred dollars wisely spent can often net a couple of thousand extra.

Does it have its Compliance Plate and prefix and car number stamped on radiator shroud panel ?? Original engine etc etc . With no numbers its probably just a very good mini , and depending on the overall condition , 1275 motor , disc brakes etc etc around the $ 8k-$10 k mark . But just depends on what you want to spend I guess ....

Chris K, I suggest you fill out your profile a bit more! like where are you etc. Tell us a bit more about why you want this info, are you selling, buying?? :?

As you can see from other threads, some nice cars have gone missing recently, your type of enquiry just sets the alarm bells ring with me!!

Hi Chris , what do you mean by RTA numbers , has it been restamped as the original plate/body number is missing ? If so you will have trouble selling it as a cooper s as most people will consider it to be a replica without the numbers to match . Any photo's available ?

Hello everyone

Sorry for being so short in my question. Im in inner west Sydney looking to purchase a cooper s mark 11. By all means im NOT into stealing cars or dealing with stolen cars.
I have read in this forum that some minis have been taken from there owners and it makes me sick to know that minis are a target.

Im just interested and currently looking to buy an original mini cooper s in far condition from a decent price.
I have also made enquiries into joining the nsw mini car club shortly. Im interested in restoring a cooper s and have enjoyed driving the two that are on the market and seen so far.

Im new to this forum and was surprised that such a forum existed. I will post more details about my self this evening when I get home as im at work.

Ok , if this is one you're looking at I'd be getting advice from someone who can look at the car with you and verify it is actually a cooper s and has enough proof to continue to be seen as a cooper s otherwise you'll be paying genuine price for what will be seen as a replica . Joining the MCCNSW would be a good idea for you as someone uin the club will most likely be able to go with you to verify the car .

Chris, It's a shame that we have to grill you like this, it's not your fault, unfortunately due to the low life activities of the criminal element, I'm afraid some of the openess of these forums may be lost.

However, the information is not lost, so try asking your questions in a different way! Or search for info already here, there is a lot of it!

AFAIK any 1970 Mk2 should have a chassis plate, if it has lost this, the information on the radiator shroud is next most important. If there is nothing there it will be very dificult to determine if it's a genuine car, or a looky likey

Then it should be priced as per a nice mini with a few extra's ! 8)
