Post subject: | Aussie lift up door handles |
Does anyone know if the lift up type handles were ever fitted to doors with internal hinges? Would anyone have a pair of knackered doors with said handles they could cut the handle and surrounding area out of and ship to the UK? I would love a set! Nige |

No, all Oz Minis built up to the end (1978) were basically Mk1 bodies which had external hinges. These lift up latches are no longer made, like much of the Oz Clubby stuff. ![]() |

Thanks for your speedy reply Dr. There must be a way I can engineer these into a set of internal hinged Mk3 doors! So question still stands, if there are any out there?? Would love to be the first in UK to have those handles |

Would be easier to buy one of the Australian clubbies already running around the UK .... ANything is really possible though with putting different handles into your local doors but it would take a bit of thought and figuring out . |

6-8K GBP for a runner I know , I have a mate in London who wants one , it would have been profittable to ship them up and sell a few years ago but the prices here for a basic model clubman have risen .... |

Many people have cut the "B" pillar section out & fitted them into other minis no problems, so i can`t see why you wouldn`t be able to graft a set into the late phomy cars easy-peasy |
