A guy at work has a 1.75 in SU he doesn't need. He knows nothing about it and I don't know much from looking at it either. Does anyone know what type they ran and if it could be of use to me on a mini? Thanks. ![]() |

That right. Triple SU's. ![]() If you change the needle over you should be okay. If you got a pic, we might be able to tell you HIF44 or whatever Inlet manifolds might be different also, so just get a new one. EDIT: They were on torana's also I think |

I think the Viva based Towana had an SU? |

Thats cause the Torana is a European car as with all Holdens cars. The HB Torana was taken from the Vauxhall Viva. |

Triple SU's were a popular mod to 202 Torana's back then, or so I'm told. Well SU's look better anyways, haha. |

Triple SU's are a popular set-up for Holden Powered sixes, I've run 1 3/4SU's on a 202 in the past. The Carbs are exactly the same carbs, just different needles will be needed. The factory triple carb set-up was indeed CD Strombergs but the aftermarket stuff is also SU's and Webers. They also ran Triple Split Choke Webers on the Bathurst race cars too. |

Depending on the Carby/manifold that was used, it would be worth your while to check the float chamber angle. Won't necessarily be the same as a Mini. If not you can buy the little plate that sets this level. |

No Holden came from the factory with an SU. Holden had a tie in with Stromberg so that was all they could run. Lots of Holdens were hotted up with twin or tripple SUs. |

Thats definately a CD stromberg carb. Your best bet would be to buy it, sell it on ebay and then buy a real SU carb. You'll probably have enough cash left over for a sixpack too |
