hey
i was looking at another mini today in a car park and i noticed that the bloke had the same problem i had. that is when some one attaches a rope, chain or strap to a mini to get it on a trailer, tow truck or out a ditch it bends the gaurds or bever panel, so i was wandering if someone had made a bracket for this use. i see them on alot of race cars aswell.

It is quite simple to replace the two front subframe mounting bolts witha couple of tow-hooks.

This is one of 2 fittings that are used as tie-down brackets when being transported on a trailer.

The red tow eye is mandatory for race cars, It's an extension to the subframe mounting bolt and strong enough for most 'towing out of the kitty-litter' situations.

1st one looks good, it would allow the rope or strap to go in between the large vents in the front, but i was wandering have you pulled it onto a trailer with that, pulling it onto a trailer would include quite a bit more than pulling along a straight

I've towed and tied down heaps of mini's with the tie bars (lower control arm to front of subframe) , good and strong and normally clear of bodywork (can't remmebr the front of a clubman though ) .

The single red tow eye in the picture posted earlier has been used to winch the car up onto a trailer with. They are fine for pulling straight, but not much good on an angle as they will bend.

Ive always used the tie bars on the front when on the trailer, but the straps go down to the trailer, not out in front of the car. The rear straps go through two holes in the rear subframe.
