Post subject: | Burstproof door Mini K's and Cooper S survey |
Hi During the recent thread concerning Mini K's it was mentioned that the last 400 Mini K's were fitted with burstproof doors. I asked in that thread if anyone knew if the figure of 400 was accurate or just a piece of folklore. As there wasn't a definitive answer to this question I thought a bit of fact gathering would be a good idea. I would like all owners of these last "400" to send me details of their cars, I would like details off the plate (month and year, car number), original engine number if known, original colour if known and any other details that may be of consequence (eg, one owner has told me theirs has clubby tail lights). I would also like to hear from owners of similarly built Cooper S models. I look forward to your replies. Once I have gathered enough information I will endeavour to make some sense of it and report back here. Cheers Steve |

There can't be only 400 of them. They seem to pop up everywhere! |

That's exactly what I thought, hence this fact finding mission. Steve |

Hi Thanks to the 2 replies so far, with mine that makes 4 on the list. I would really like to hear from more of you with these cars so that we can get a good picture of how many were built. Cheers Steve |

Do you think it was a fad at some stage to swap them out? |

Yeah nothing at all. But you repair the rust so you can stop having to go get tetanus shots. |
