I have a damaged rover 1275 motor with auto box, im about to strip it down, whats interchangable with a 1275 manual motor? crank, rods & pistons, cam, oil pump?

Any advice from those who know would be nice.

The crank, rods, cam and pistons are all the same. The block can be used after some mods (waiting for the Doc to post the differences)
The oil pump is different though.

What is wrong with the auto?

Doogie, have a read of my conversion thread-
http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1461
As Mick says all the whirly bits inside are the same as a manual, even the block is after a few holes are drilled and an oil pump spacer fitted.
If you want it `done', PM me. But don't toss that block.
If it's a late Rover the principle is the same but I'm just not sure about the oil filter setup, send me some pics of the oil feed from autobox to motor.

OK yes they are large journal cranks, with rolled fillet radii on the journals (best type of big J for resisting fatigue).
The rods are A+ type, the best for a big J motor as they are strong, but heaps lighter than the old knobby 1100S type ones.

Yes you can stroke these cranks, GR did one recently for willy. Then U need some S rods.
