I've also been chasing late 60's dealership information I wonder if this is worth a sticky somewhere that could be added to as information comes to light? I realise that lots of cars history has been well and truely lost over the years but from time to time this sort of information does surface thoughts?? |

Just re read yr orig post. The dealer was L & D Motors - their main dealership was at Campsie. The business was a partnership between Mr Alf Lucky and Mr Alan Dale. During the 70's they also bought Purnell Motors at Arncliffe. Purnells is now own exclusively by the Dale family. Hope this helps. |

Thanks Karcraft, that was quick. My dad also bought a Mini-matic at the same time. He had it for a year and sold it with only 300 miles on it. Only had my S for about 2 years and sold it . cost me to much in repairs as I drove it to hard. Won't say what it was traded on though. |

There was never a BMC dealer in Melton as far as I can find out so most likely the car would ahve come from Ballarat or perhaps Footscray? |

I got my first Mini from DENTS in Keilor Road, Essendon, they were one of the BMC dealers here in Melbourne and that was in December, 1969.. |

I purchased my current Cooper S when it was 2 years old from the sister of the Sales Manager at Lanes Motors in Hartwell (near Camberwell in Melbourne). There was another dealer nearby in Murrumbeena known as 'Heads of Murrumbeena' which I also frequented regularly. |
