Post subject: | Gulgong Today |
We are in what is technically called the greater Hunter and have had big dumps of rain in the last three days. Today is the first day of the Henry Lawson Festival in Gulgong and part of it is a parade of all manner along the main road. We had to take the long route to Gulgong as when we arrived at one of the two causeways we must cross to get into town we were met with more water than either my mini or my wife's 1100S (note the S on the end of the 1100) were game to tackle. Last night the water tanks were full and overflowing. Baths all round and used new fresh water with each bath - a bloody novelty. ![]() |

Good te ear that you are safe, and to learn that you finnaly have water. A bit sad people have to die for water, but well needed water for you. Go and have a 20min hot shower, you diserve it. |

I'm really glad to see that you weren't stupid enough to try and get through the crossing. It amazes me how many people try and get across a river crossing and end up getting washed away. |

Now the farmers will be saying it's too bloody wet... ![]() Quote: (note the S on the end of the 1100)
Had one of those when I was 19 yo, white with black interior.. Drove the wheels of it and after 18 months because I used it for work, traded it in on a Morris Nomad 1500. |

Haha- the old saying back then was "you'd have to be MAD to own a noMAD.. ![]() The nomads looked butt ugly from behind, IMO. ![]() My wife's first car was an 1100S auto, then later when married we bought a 1300 auto for $100. I brazed the pinholes in the floor, changed the head gasket, drove it for 4 years, then sold it for $350. Good value... ![]() |

On their own 1100s don't look that big until you see them next to a mini ![]() KB |

So did I, so maybe that is why I bought one... ![]() Actually, I liked the hatchback style of it and I never had any problems with it in the 2 years I owned it... |

![]() Aw Mick - still no decent rain down your way ??? We have been getting rain for a while now - not five inches in a dump though. Josh and Emm - nice little ford you crossed - our causeway had trees impaled on the levy side. Thats a strong warning on the strength of the current. I can drive the long way round. Besides I can see how Jensen's Oat crops are coming if I go the long way. |
