my passenger side door wont open from the outside. any ideas or tell me how to fix it would be greatly appreciated, rob |

Is it a clubman door , roundie windup or roundie sliding window ? |

BUGGER ..... Take the door card off the inside of the door (from memory remove the two part trim around the door handle but leave the handle assembly there , and the window winder) and you'll see there's two rods that join the internal handle to the mechanism at the door jamb . The adjustment of these rods affects the inside and outside handles and how they open the door . Best advice I can give is to wind down the window and adjust the rod (there's nuts either side of the collar where they go into the latch area , just loosen them a smidge and then lengthen or shorten the rod a bit each time) slightly , a couple of flats of the nut each time , till you can open the door from the outside . It's been almost 20 years since I've played with clubman door handles so can't give any more details I'm affraid other than it should be in the adjustment .... |
