Howdy folks,

I'm currently contemplating a front end panel swap (not the engine, just the bodywork) from a late model Rover to my 68 Deluxe. Reason being there is a fair bit of damage on mine: rust, flattened panels, radiator shroud hammered flat, section trimmed off lip where the bonnet rests, current old Rover apron damaged, bonnet warped. And before you ask, it wasn't me that did all this!

I heard something about hard mount vs soft mount compatibility, and there was discussion on a previous topic about tyre clearances when fitting Rover panels.

If it turns out being easy enough I'll cut my losses and take that route, but are there any hidden tricks? I am restoring the car - it is currently on stands in my garage, not running and is a long way from being registered.

Morrie....Rovers have different doors etc so A Panels are different.......are you sure you want to go down that track?? Most Mini Deluxe panels are still available either new or second hand :D

Rover bonnets have the bonnet hinge in a different spot,
same spot as a Leyland Mini.
Either buy a decent morris bonnet or Rover bonnet and weld your hinge plates on.
or buy a new bonnet(they have both, ours do anyway)
