18 months ago a group of local Leeton blokes got together to restore a car for charity. They started work on "Marilyn" a 1967 Deluxe. On June 16th she will be the major item in a charity auction for the Leeton Jumpstart fund. www.jumpstartfund.com.au.

For those of you who are going to Hay this year you will be able to see her in the flesh. For those who are not here are the specs:
2pac BRG
1100 CC Reconditioned motor and GB
Reconditioned everything else - Brakes, clutch etc
Rubber cone
New tyres
New upholstery - An absolute amazing job!!!
New rubbers
Window tiniting
CD Player
Racing mirrors

The auction is on June 16th and is being held at the Leeton Soldiers Club. All proceeds go towards charity. Everything on and including the car was donated by local people and businesses. Heaps of other awesome stuff in the auction.

Call Barry Tiffen for more info 0428559439.

im led to believe they hope to get $15000 for it,a mate has seen it and reckons its very good and they have already had offers fairly close to that mark, would suit someone thats cashed up and tax wise a great buy as its from a charity which may mean that its fully tax deductable so you help charity and get a mini(check with your accountant though as im no expert)

Definitely check first as it was explained to me by our accountant that if you donate without receiving anything in return it's deductable , if you buy something (a pen , a raffle ticket , a badge , a car , whatever) from a charity then it's different and is only a partial deduction under some circumstances .

I don't want to be picky but could they clip up the flasher can and the plug for the blinker switch. :? It just spoils the fantastic interior.

yes I'm sure you could donate $14000 and then donate an extra $1000 which is wat the mini cost you, Just need a good (dodgy) accountant.

The flasher can will be fixed up. There are a few little jobs that need completing. Rest assured you will be getting a very neat car. I wouldn't be surprised if they get +10K. Check out the website for the full story.

does that mean they're constantly trying to see which one can reach the end of the bonnet first?

The Mini sold tonight to a local person for his daughter. $10250 was the final bid. Bad luck to one of the phone bidders who I know got the tip from here

The winner got a very nice car indeed.
