Trying to get the Clubby ready for a Rego check this week but having some odd problems.
The car had sat in the garage for about 7 years til early last year when I got her up and running again.
Drove round fine without problem at the time but failed rego check due to oil leak (Primary gear seal), height (hi los too low) and noisy.
Earlier this year pulled out the engine and fixed up the leaks , put in a new clutch etc. put on a twin box RC40 (previously had rear only RC40), replaced old K&N's (it's a twin HS4).
Went to start her up and running roughly and stopped then wouldn't restart.
Chased up all typical electrical issues and found plugs were fouled black wet and sooty.
Put in new plugs and started first compression but couldn't get any revs - would die immediately you tried. Plugs now black and sooty. (not wet - believe that was fuel not oil)
Since then haven't been able to get more than 10 seconds running... and recently not at all. Just winds over - no sign off attempted ignition.
(Cancelled Rego test booking today until resolved)
So...
Spark Plug Leads - new last year and sitting in garage unused.
Spark Plugs - new .... but keep having to clean. When not starting quite wet with fuel.
New Distributor Cap and Rotor.
Good spark from Lumenition - Coil lead about 6mm from earth point.
No obvious leaks at inlet manifold....
Any thoughts on what the problem may be / what to check next ?
Starting to drive me barmy...
