Got Greenstuffs on the front of the Open Classic, about 50-55% worn.
Been squealing a bit recently only on the cold and wet days.
I have applied anti-squeal with no change.
Would water on the pads be causing this?

It's partly because you are using such a 'hard' compound pad, and the squeeling is the little pads telling you to thrash them so they get a bit warmer and then stop yelling at you 
Give it a few hard stops... I bet it won't be squeeling anymore

Sometimes its the opposite to what willy says - they squeal because the get hot - particularly towards the end on a big long brake application. Its more to do with pad compounds and scores, highs and lows on the brake disc rotor. Brake pads have been through a revolution in the last thirty years. Asbestos pads were the best but had the obvious health risks. It took the manufacturers a long time to come up with compounds that gave similar performance once the good old DS19s were banned. Depending where the squeal is ask for specialist harder or softer compound. Softer for cold squeals or harder for hot squeals. |

I'm assuming it's cold squeals cos it dissapears eventually (presumably when they get warm).

Sure it's not just cush squealing when his butt hits the ground, hanging on underneath your car? After he falls off, the noise stops until he catches up next time. |
