Are Gasless 130 amp mig welders worth the buy. Or should I buy a gas/gasless? What brand Mig Welder do you own and is it a good one? |

I would recommend WIA or Lincoln, made in OZ so spare parts not a drama. Not sure about Gasless130, but anything made in Italy I would avoid. I bought a DueMig and had to junk it cos parts N/A. I now have a WIA 150 which can be used with gas/gasless wire. Beeyoootiful ![]() |

Thanks guys I will keep an eye out for one. I know CIG are a good brand. The only problem is the price they sell for. How much do lincoln Migs sell for? |

I don't own one but I borrowed a mates Lincoln (approx $1200 new) and it was fantastic. I tried a cheap migmate or whatever they are called and it was rubbish for thin gauge stuff. I used gas with both - just have to make sure it is not too windy if you are outside. Gasless will give you a lot more splatter to clean up. You can see the one I used in this pic. ![]() Basically the old saying, "You get what you pay for." really applies to these welders. Gig |

I have a cheap gasless Mig. Fine for small stuff. Makes a an easy job difficult if you want to more than that. If you want to anything more than making brakets get a Lincoln or the like. Next project sees a decent large reel Mig going in the garage |

From all the good replies about the Lincoln mig gas/gasless units, I think I have just decided on what brand I want to get. Thank you to everyone that inputed into this thread. |

I have a Toolex Copper mate. 170 amp gas/gasless. It kicks ass. Cost me a thousand bux but its very good. Parts are easy to get from Gasweld. That lincoln welder is pure porn. My old man has the big brother to that one and its awesome. |

Sometimes you can pick up a S/H bargain at a welder shop. Mine is a `Kemppi' Super Kempomat, made in Finland. Around 125A which is heaps for panel work. Unlike 99% of current 240V MIG machines, the Voltage control is stepless and it has mains voltage compensation. Cost me $450 years ago. A panelbeater had traded it that morning. ![]() |
