In the last edition (Spring) of CAMS magazine, there is story about Townsville City Council laid 1.2km of hotmix surface on Mt Stuart hillclimb course. This course is operated by Twin Cities Auto Club. Do you guys know anything about any events run at this course or are you able to direct me to a contact with the Twin Cities Auto Club. Any help much appreciated. Steve |

Email didn't work, ended up speaking to the Pres of the Club. They ran 3 hillclimb events this year, are hoping for 4 next year. Excellent, will definately give this a go. Sounds like a very tight track, much tighter than Noosa. We'll have to see. Gafmo, what info are you after? Are you interested as a competitor, if so I can give you the guy's contact details. Steve |

I can give you my club presidents number as he raced up there last time for the first. And there is usually a GT that usually races. I dont Mt Stuart is that tight, I have rode up it once. Most of the mini owners in Townsville practically live next to Mt Stuart. SO let us know if you do come up. |

If their first event for 2005 is run before May, and my car is ready (after engine & box rebuild etc), I will definately give this a go. I have done Noosa Hillclimb for last 3 years, lost first place in my class this year to a Clubman GT by .03 sec, was great racing thou. We were 2 seconds clear of the next mini. Gafmo, once I get more info about the event and classes, I will post details. Steve |
