Post subject:  Squeaky clutch

Got a squeaky clutch. :(

I know this is a VERY common occurence but the Search function didn't come to the party. :cry:

Where do i look and what do i do? :)

could be the spring in your pedal box (where your steering colum mounts to) spray with wd40 or grease it up, short of that could be your clutch master's rubber thingie maboby. any fluid leaking around there?

I agree it's most likely the pedal pivot. Applying WD40 might help to diagnose the problem but it is not a good lubricant. It attracts dust and eventually evaporates leaving a dirty sludge. Better to use silicone spray if you can get it into the joints or resort the old oil can.

Take the pivot pin out and check it - mine was worn to blazes - read somewhere they should be replaced if the car is getting on in years>all my pivot pins in both clutch and brake had to be replaced and the holes in the master cylinder plungers/piston shafts were elongated as well. - had to weld them up and redrill - realize that is major overhaul stuff but worth being aware of.
