Are you sure it is a modified car and not a late K with the clubby door handles :?:

Cheers

But still - as Cushy said - does it have a wiper motor - there should be a date on that. Does it still have the rear doors ?? have a lock on the locks on those.

Also - if you bought it from a wrecking yard (reputable - such as Holmwood) they should have given you a reciept with the title details. This a legal requirement and that should include all Model and body ID details.

Swapping a complete front is a fairly major job - not just a weekends work.
Most people don't have a spot welder and there would be signs of drilling out the old spot welds on the firewall and welding in the new engine bay walls

There would also be signs that it has been reprayed - maybe the whole van or just the front end - there would be signs anyway.

Those late 60's and early 70's were heyclon days for BMC and Leyland with all sorts of things being done. Its quite possible that you have a round nosed clubby van from the factory. The reason is that comercial vehicles such as a mini van were not high on the sales list, the laws concerning safety issues were coming into effect and that included burst proof doors (clubby style). The factory being what is was then - used up old parts before going onto new fronts. Maybe you have a very rare and potentially valuable mini van.
