Surely there are people on here who have done full or part retrims in their Mini's....?!?

Anyone who has had ANY trim work done, please tell me what you had done and how much it cost!

If it was at mates rates, can you tell me what it would be worth to us not so fortunate people.... :?

I will be doing this very soon and need to put aside some cash.....or rob another bank....

EDIT: See page 7.....

I inquired not so long ago in adelaide at crap loads of places for my 850. On average they wanted about 850 dollars for all seats and four door cards, new foam in seats and strengthened support. The cheapest I could find was about 700. I didnt have this money to spend, and thought it was a bit pricey, so havent enquired any further. I am hoipefully getting a second hand set from Dr Trim once he has finished doing his new ones!

I got my seats repaired locally and they cost about $160 I think? they weren't all that bad(a few tears) but he did a really good job. I don't know what a whole recovering would cost but my thoughts are go to a trimmer you know does good work and you can trust. Mine stuffed up the carpets partly his fault partly mine and he fixed it up for nothing and did a really great job. :D

As far as door trims go I think it is way cheaper to do it yourself, get some quick grip or other contact adhesive and some vinyl from the trimmer you use for your seats. The trimmer I used recomended using masonite for the front door cards as they only need to be flat and masonite is more durable and holds it's shape better. For the back I am using cardboard (use the thick cardboard for auto stuff) I have to get on with it and cut them out soon :? If you do the door cards yourself get the big tins of quickgrip (1 litre) cause I used heaps of it, building supplies places have it cheap (1 litre for the price of the 500ml tin elsewhere)
so appart from the seats that's
$15 - 30 quick grip or contact adhesive
$30 of vinyl ???
$15 - 20 maybe more for the carboard and masonite

getting the carpets done (front only was about $160) I also got a couple of dash mats made up. which added I think another $50 - 60 I think carpets can be bought ready made pretty cheap. I also got some automotive carpet underlay for $15 - 20 again front only

I can't remember exactly the prices though so the prices are only rough.
If you want to keep the patterns in your door cards I think it needs to be done professionally. :(

I made all my trims outta thin plywood, then contact glued black car carpet over them. Bought a shitload of car carpet and did the floor f/r. Also used underlay/sound deadning on the floor. Made some floor mats up and got the edges stiched red to finish them off. Carpeted the dash (bottom section/firewall section) Made a parcel tray from plywood also, and carpeted it.
Had to get the roof lining re-made in velour, got ripped on that. Cost me nearly $500 for that. The rear seat cost $380 in vinyl Black/Red. The Sparco seats were $1300 for the pair plus $150ea for frames. Try and do as much as you can yourself, its pretty easy to do trims and crap.

well maybe i paid too much for
mine by the sounds of it... ($1200) for a full
retrim of the front and back seats in the original pattern
they should have gone on with which (they said) was quite
difficult due to the curvyness of the seat... then came the
door and rear cards which came to $500. noting that
i supplied all material (except the door backing, that was
precut and they used special stuff for the
back which was bendy)

now it may have been a little more than everyone else
has paid, but mine really came up very well.
my seats were done by j&a upholstory in fivedock
and my door cards were done by polyweld in peakhurst.
both places (especially door cards) are highly reccomended.
(you can see my interior on the www.miniclub.com.au site undr gallery) :D
