Guys,

I have two sets of these, one has orange bands near the bottom eyelets, the others nothing. Does anyone know if there are different sets for different cars ie deluxes vs K's vs Clubbies vs Coopers?

Thanks in anticipation of any assistance which will be gratefully received.....................

There are different ones. I know of two different types, early and late. If you lay them side by side they look totally different.

I should have been more precise - plastic orange bands.
Also, I have struts of slightly different lengths (strut/tube, hydrolastic, rear, for the use of).
The plot thickens :?

Thanks Doc. Seems logical the stronger springs would be more suited to the "S" models and the shorter struts the same, for a lower ride height.

The later stronger springs and shorter struts were fitted to all hydros from 1968 on, according to Vizard.

Partly Mick. I found out that I had two differing length struts on that subbie, not realising they came in two sizes. I also noticed I had different types of springs. All off various cars I have broken up over the years without recording which came off what.

OK....well with springs, if it is not immediately apparent which one is the stronger.....weeeeellllll....you could attach a decent weight to each one in turn and measure their excursion against a ruler....obliviously  ....the stronger should travel the least distance for the same weight :D

Vizard also suggests in HTMYM that they can/should be shortened by 3/8".
