Hi

I was wondering if anyone has bought or installed one of these kits http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... &rd=1&rd=1

If you have I would be interested to know how they fit, what the workmanship is like and how close to original material it is :?:

Cheers

I bought one last week & received it already

Will be a while before it gets fitted, but the material & workmanship are good. Great value for money IMHO :)
(just hope it fits)

quite a few people here have bought that trim, and they say it doesnt sit 100%, see how yours goes, could be better

I don't think its a massive issue of how accurate the trimming is, it's the fitment where people get it wrong.

If you take it to a qualified trimmer, I'm sure they could get it looking close to excellent.

It depends on the type of finish you are after as well as cost.
Let me explain:
I fitted mine and from the front to the second last cross bar it was perfect. Then came the issues with the last cross bar (near back window).
The fitting is out by about 20mm and no amount of streching, adjusting, reworking would fix this and now I have two small creases in each corner where I had to fix the problem.
Its not a perfect fit but it is a good fit.
The corner pieces and cover across the bottom of the window are also supplied. They fitted well.
I was quoted $400.00 for a professional rooflining. This one cost me $120.00 including glue plus 2 hours of my time plus a lot of patience.
I am happy with the results - especially saving $300.00 along the way. I will post some piccies tomorrow to show what I mean if you are interested.
p.s my car is a roundie.

Thanks for the replies so far, very helpful especially white_mini_man :D

No one has yet mentioned anything about the pattern and colour in regards to how close it is to original. Anybody got a comment on this area :?:

Cheers

Sorry, I can't help re original pattern or colouring.
I was after a black roof lining and didn't care about originality of colour or pattern. 8)

Well that is interesting :?
I sent him a message and asked if he could send me a small sample of the material used, the reply was that he couldn't cut one up to send me a bit. I got the distinct impression that he wasn't making them, just supplying, but your experience with him is different :?

He reckoned he had them made in China when i spoke to him some time back. Perhaps he has found Newton's suppliers?
