saw this one on ebay earlier today aswell. looks like the person who'd buy it would have to get a new bonnet and boot. what engine is that it doesnt look anything like my mate's swift gti. does anyone know how long and wide its been extended just out of curiousity?

Quoted on ebay as

- Body has been widened by 6 inches
- Front has been lengthened by 4 inches

thanks. i thought that they would have extended the front both sides at the same time, apparently not.

It is a Swift Gti G13b motor that has been modified with a custom turbo setup 8)

Geez, there's some work gone into that car. Hope someone finishes it, because that starting bid isn't worth half the cost of the engine in that thing!

To avoid narrowing the floor pan . It's the top of a mini sitting on the floorpan/firewall etc of a Suzuki Swift . A hell of a lot of work into it but yeah , would definitely be track only I'd say .

Sounds like a very 'English' thing to do. The poms regularly do crazy crap like cutting the top half off one car and pasting another one too it.

I spied a mini van draped over the top of a GTi-r chassis a while ago. The thing looked rediculous but went like stink.

In some way's it would be the best way to do it as you keep all the original geometry , but it'd be a nightmare to register and you'd really want to be confident of your welds and the integrity of your design (how does teh top of a mini body that's been widened compare with a standard Suzuki swift body for rigidity and stregth ?) .

a good idea, but if you were going to lengthen the engine bay to accomodate the bigger motor, why not just use a clubby body???

but in all honesty, if you want a mini but with the perks of a newer car, why not just get a rover mini? or, a new small car that drives like a mini (ike a mini, not the same... )

still, we all have our hobbies and this one would be an interesting one to take on. good luck to the seller, and to whoever buys it to complete it
