Post subject:  Dizzy timing with no timing marks on front pulley

hi, i just finished a timing chain conversion, from a single to double, but i'm wanting to check my dizzy timing but i have no marks for the timing on the front pulley. can someone please give me any ideas on how to do my timing without marks.

have a look on the flywheel.
There is a little flap on the housing that you will see the timing marks. Use a torch and a mirror to see 'em.

on the other side of the motor there is a little inspection cover on the flywheel cover remove and it is in there

ok. i have seen the marks. so how do i time the dizzy

using said mirror with a timing light. You will see the timing marks on the flywheel.
Oh and loosen of the dizzy first and try not to move it too much during the process to get the timing right or engine damage can be done.

The timing marks are marked a little like thus 1/4....5.....10

and although they need to be read in reverse using a mirror, are not stamped in reverse to make it easy. Be patient and think carefully about what you are after.

i think i have seen someone selling a mirror for this reason. it's bent 90deg and it mounts to the two plate bolt holes. i'm trying to find who's selling them.
