I've just picked up an 295 head to put on the 1100 block.Its been shaved but how do I tell by how much ? |

Also might be an idea to measure the CC of the chambers and work out the proper size to suit the compression ratio you need to run your motor at. No point in bolting a head on an engine without working out the compression ratio. |

And if it's had more than about .075" off, it'll be more prone to blowing head gaskets. Smallbore heads were not real thick in the deck. Their old age now and resulting internal corrosion don't help. |
