A question for some of our more "experienced" members. I believe that some years ago a shipment of Cooper S cv's was offered that turned out to have longer than mini driveshafts (with pot joints) attached. Legend has it that most parts people and mechanics split the cv off the drive shafts and either stored or threw the shafts out. Apparently the shafts were for a Austin Allegro and are what we need to get our 1275 and Morris 1100 together. Do any of our esteemed Ausminier's have any of these old drive shafts tucked away? |

I think I saw one of those shafts about 7 or 8 years ago. A mate needed a CV for his drum brake clubby and was sold this new-looking really long shaft from some driveshafts place in Geelong. It had a pot joint at one end and disk CV at the other. I told him to take it back cos it wouldn't fit. |
