Post subject: | Cheap Tyres |
Hi Guys, I have to replace the two rear tyres on the 850 as they are shot. I am looking at getting some mags in the near future so dont want to waste money on expensive stock tyres. What can you recommend as a good cheap tyre for stock 10inch steelies? |

well the bridgestones are ok i guess, if u dont want nothing to fancy i can get a set of falken tyres from factory, standard rim i think is 14570r10? i got a set of 16570r10 on mine and they handle well so far. also i got a set of widened chrome standard rims with chrome nut covers lil rust spots but still look good when cleaned up. 1 rim is servely damaged but can more then likely be repaired |

Tyres aren't something to cut costs on. Why not fork out for the mags and new tyres now? Not wasting money on anything else that way. ![]() |

the thing is 165's most probably wont fit on 3.5" wheels so you have to pick 145's, and theres not much there. i havent seen falkens in that size. i think any radial tyre you can buy brand new for a mini is lightyears ahead of the crossply tyres they came out with, so you cant go wrong. i can only think of one 145 tyre atmo and thats the kuhmo powerstar |

Kumho Powerstars 145/10 are not too bad on a stocko 850 etc with 3.5 steelies. I ran them for years. Not like the good old days where we had all sorts of good ones to choose from in 145/10. ![]() |

Strongly recommend the Kumho Powerstar, Cheap tyre that is a great all-rounder. We've been running them on our minis for a while through daily driving, motorkhana, autocross and hillclimb and they perform admirably in all areas. Not the greatest tyre in the world but good performance with a good price can't be scoffed at. |
