It's 2 mini rocker covers having a race down a slope!!!

There was a paragraph about it from one of Watto's THE MINI EXPERIENCE - BIG DAY OUT.

Have a look in my photobucket link (below) and click on the link "My Rocker Cover Racer".

As for the rules, well as long as it has wheels, and is not bigger or heavier than what the rules on the day stipulate........you're in. It's just a knock-out sort of thing, quickest down the ramp on the day is the winner.

Have fun constructing yours

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

Drewus....nope! Mine one the Kapiti mini in the park in 2006 and 2nd in 2007. Wheels (and bearings) were straight off rollerblades.

CD's are on the right track, but are generally too big to allow good acceleration (good top end though if you have a long track). They have to be attached really well too, most I've seen tend to wobble, and therefore throw away any chance of building speed. You want the whole thing as heavy as possible (usually about 3-4 kg) but the wheels as light as possible.

i went to a mini place run by a friend and got one for free :D

i've got skateboard wheels on mine, may not be the fastest but svaes any hassle about wobbly wheels or anything.

but for me, its not about winning, its about the racer looking cool, and beating poeee and rodney :P

simon, at least put some stickers or somehting on it this year! make it look FUN! :D

al, check out this thread http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7142
