It is a Leyland Mini S  (the Clubman name was dropped in 72)
The S has these bits that a normal Mini does not have.
Flares.
Spacer brake drums.
Sports wheels (steelies not mags)
3 dial dash.
Chrome around door frame.
Better trim.
And that is about it!

My body is a S MkII but my engine number isn't even on that list :(

Edit:
Turns out the engine number is a Vic police overstamp, hence why it isn't on the list.

You would think that the d/h's compiling these so called lists would know by now that an Aussie Mk2 Cooper S is YG2S4

Nah, it is much easier to just bag all the ones on the net.

On the subject of engine numbers - I have two engines both are 99H905AJH the numbers are 600ish apart. Also a block that is 100111855

What do those numbers tell us ?

The 99H905AJH ones are both very late 998, The 1001 block is a 1098, from early Clubby body type YG2S7.

So the 998 in the Moke is not original as it is rod change without the rods :? and the Moke has a hole for Moke style Magic Wand and therefore needs a remote change with the Magic Wand adaption (which I have from another idea) The other 998 came with the rod change mechanism.

Will I need a remote change box or can a remote dif housing be made to fit a rod box? (I think I know the answer :? )

Doc - anything special about the crank in the 1100 block or is it just bog standard ?

Mokes and Minis from late 74 use a rod-change gearbox. The Mokes use short rods to leave the stick in the "Magic" position.
The rod length for a Mini is 475mm.
The rod length for a Moke is 145mm on the earlier ones and 210mm on the later ones. I don't know the date of the change.
