Post subject: | Morris 1300 Brake Shoes |
I'm on the hunt for some brake shoes for a Morris 1300. I believe they are different to a 1100 and different to a Mini. Any suggestions or even some part numbers appreciated (I have the original numbers, got me nowhere). |

Good luck in finding anything for morris 1300, they are the orphan of the morris as you would prob know. Best bet is to take the pads to a brake shop, where they will glue new pads to the old backs. prob is you will be off the road for a day or so. (make sure your centre nut is tight on the driveshafts) was a real pain to find replacement CV's.) |

Mosst braake places have a book of brake linings in shadow style drawings, you can sit the original linings on to check them, BL being BL will use the same linings as some other British car, try better brakes or Molonglo Jon |

from bitter experience I know that there are at least 2 different sets of linings for the 1300 - probably best to have you're rebonded as suggested |

The 1300 auto we had, the pads were trapezoidal? sort of triangular- in cross section. The single piston caliper pivots sideways as they wear. When they are parallel with the backplate they have had it... ![]() |
