orright, I've been asked the question by a lucky owner of a box of very rare mini bits and pieces. Amongst his other new stuff (some with Special tuning written on them) he has a choke cable just like the original Mk1 Bakelite choke cables, but with a the letter C instead of choke or similar. Can anyone hazard a guess as to what model of BMC it may have come off? I realise it may be a little generic however... It is amongst purely BMC stuff, so think it won't be to far removed from Morris or Austin. |

I seem to recall my A30 just had C on the choke cable, and S on the starter. I may ofcourse be making this up. It was 30 years ago. And yes, after thrashing the guts out of it I took it to the local tip, along with another one I had for spares. Ah the stupidity of youth. It was fun to drive. Removed the mechanical linkage to the rear brakes....fun! The forest's around Smythesdale have never been the same I bet. |

I recall that the 65 deluxe we had was a round knob, not the T style choke and all it had on it was the C. |

hmm so I am guessing it was perhaps for a particular model, but became fairly generic in application. Thanks for all the help guys, you should see what I'm looking at: ![]() They have two of these, and would like to know where they came from origianally. it is most certainly not mine, or they would not be leaving my side, but they will be up on Ebay at some time soo. |

I think that they would be from the "Hot-Up Kit (stage one)" from the BMC dealer. (only $75.25 installed) The Hot-Up kit had a twin carb set using a Warneford manifold and two RH carbs. |

![]() ![]() I want! ![]() ![]() steady...steady.....wait...wait...It'll be up some time soon. This fellow has had a box full of stuff for quite some time. Some bits are up now but I won't reveal him just yet. He's been carrying around a lot of NOS gear for many years in a cardboard box. So far they've been floored by the response. I had the option of these two for myself last night....but i couldn't bring myself to take them...the pair (yes there is two) will go for a nice price come the time. |

I'm assuming you meant to post it in here Andrew ? I think you hit the "post new topic" icon rather than "post reply" at the top . |
